The Banks Family: Baptism

Claudia was baptized at our church on Sunday Oct. 25th. Most of the Olson side of the family was able to attend as well as a couple friends. Pastor Rich had all the kids in the congregation join in by splashing a little water on Claudia. She did superb during the whole process, never cried, and even sat quietly through the rest of the service. Afterward, we had a little get-together at our condo's clubhouse with coffee, lunch, and gifts! She is one spoiled little girl with all the people that love her.

In other happenings, we tried Claudia on oatmeal and she just gobbled it up. We couldn't get the food in fast enough and she grabbed the spoon to get it in faster. She also tried sucking on a biscuit and loved that too, so we will have to set up her highchair soon so we don't get food in the carpet. Claudia is such a big girl now that we've moved her to the real bathtub. Although she can sit up on her own, I'm bathing with her for now in case she takes a dive and also because she still likes to lay back resting her head on me so she can wildly kick her legs and splash the water. She is no longer having a bottle in the middle of the night (yay!) although I don't think we can claim that she is sleeping through the night. She did it for two nights, but is now waking up several times again. But since we know she doesn't need a bottle anymore, we just soothe her back to sleep or give her a binkie.

She's all about talking and playing these days. She babbles constantly and always wants a toy in her hand. We also have a Jumparoo for her now (see photo). Although Claudia pretty much likes everyone and everything, we've discovered one thing she does not like -- baseball hats. She cries when she gets near someone wearing one. Glen usually wears a hat when he goes out in the rain, so we're trying to get her over her fear. She doesn't cry with him now, but she gives him his sideways look, stops smiling, and just stares. Such a strange thing!
