Table food already

Shortly after my last post (when I mentioned that Claudia was eating cereal and strained vegetables), the daycare asked if they could start feeding her solid foods and we said "yes". Her daily progress report came home saying:

Breakfast: waffles and pineapple
Lunch: turkey sandwich, green beans, and Mandarin oranges
Snack: Cheerios and crackers

Wow, just like that and she's on table food! I know the experts say you're supposed to introduce one food at a time, but Claudia is on a roll and loves it so we're just going with the flow. At the daycare they smash up the food in tiny pieces, but she can handle a whole cracker. So far she has liked most things except fruit and her favorite has been turkey stuffing. They report that she is an excellent non-picky eater and has great finger dexterity for her age. Now if we could just get her working on some of her gross motor skills like crawling! But, she is making some progress. She can now roll from her back to tummy, and when she plays on her tummy she's starting to "swim" so she's getting the idea.

Our social life have been a bit limited lately because I'm still experiencing a flare of my ulcerative colitis, so I'm not always feeling my best. That combined with general exhaustion for both of us from working long hours at work and still being woken up at night by the baby is taking it's toll. We're just enjoying playing with Claudia, feeding her, and going to bed as early as we can so we can get up and do it all over again. :-)

Eating carrots.

Reading a book. She likes the board books with pictures of animals.

She's enjoying being on her tummy more.

Showing off her pony shirt and her koala booties.
