A big winter storm hit Seattle a week before Christmas. While the snow was pretty and fun for the first day, a white Christmas is very overrated! We live on a steep hill and couldn't get our cars out to go anywhere, so we were literally snowed in for a week. We did have fun going for walks and we definitely caught up on sleep. The Mazda made it over to Kirkland (with the help of chains) for Christmas Day so we could see my parents and sisters. Once the snow melted enough to make the roads safe, my mom hosted a dinner for the extended family. We pigged out on lots of good food and exchanged gifts. The icy roads were more slippery than you would think.
This is the hill in front of our house that became a sheet of ice.
A tree fell in our parking lot.
Our neighbor's snowman.
Glen snapped lots of photos while we were out walking.
All the snowy trees looked cool.

Here's an interesting bush we saw with snow covered berries.
I did my walks on snowshoes so I wouldn't risk falling.
Most of the snow accumulated at night, so Glen had to go out after dark to catch snowflakes.
