Home from the hospital

We are excited to be home and all three of us are in love with Teagan and she makes us so happy.  All the newborn care skills have quickly come back, especially because Teagan is very sturdy and has good neck strength for a newborn.  Claudia is eager to help out and wants to be involved with every diaper change and bottle feeding.  She is a bit jealous and has started sucking her thumb, which she never did as a baby.  It's different having a second child because you have your first to tend to as well, but I'm more confident with Teagan and have less worries, so that frees up time to enjoy her.  Teagan had her 5 day appointment at the pediatrician and she lost 6 oz. since her birth weight, which is normal.

It's fun to compare the two girls and predict Teagan's looks and temperament.  Teagan was two pounds bigger at birth, she has lots of straight dark brown hair whereas Claudia had just a little bit and it was light brown, and Teagan has long wiggly toes whereas Claudia has short brick shaped ones (from me) that all move in unison.  They both have fair sparse eyebrows, eyes shaped like Glen although Teagan's are spaced a little further apart than Glen & Claudia's, and detached earlobes like me.  Claudia has blue eyes, but Teagan's are already brown in the center, so we will see if that sticks.  For temperament, Claudia was a strong eater out of the gate and would eat large amounts and also take a binkie.  Teagan is more of a snacker and likes to eat a smaller amount more frequently (every 1-3 hours) and she doesn't show much interest in the binkie.  So far, no signs of major spitting up, so I hope she has a strong stomach like Claudia did.  Teagan is a bit more snuggly and likes being on her tummy.  Claudia always wanted to be swaddled up and on her back.
